Lofi Zoo is a little pixel zoo to look after while you study, work or wind down. It starts with two bunnies and a meadow and grows into twelve habitats, each with its own soundtrack by Purrple Cat.
How to play
- Look around
- Drag the map (mouse or one finger), or use WASD or the arrow keys.
- Zoom
- Scroll the mouse wheel, pinch with two fingers, or use the + and − buttons.
- Care for animals
- Tap an enclosure to open it, then Feed, Clean, Adopt or Expand. Tap an animal to pet it. Tap a mess to clean it.
- Coins
- Tap the coins visitors leave. They are collected for you after a few seconds anyway.
- Shortcuts
- 1 to 9 and 0 jump to the first ten enclosures, F feed, C clean, B adopt, E expand, Esc close, Space play or pause the music.
Tips
- Follow the goal card in the corner. Every goal pays a coin reward.
- Feed before the food bar turns red. A bubble over the sign means an enclosure needs you.
- Expanding an enclosure gives the animals more room and makes them happier.
- Hire staff in the Zoo menu. The zookeeper (gold star) walks into the messiest enclosure and sweeps up each mess. The feeder (food bowl) finds the hungriest pen and tosses food over the fence.
- Build the gift shop in the Zoo menu. Visitors pop in on their way out and buy a plush.
- Every animal comes in one of a few colours, picked at random when you adopt it.
- Stars come from how many happy animals you have.

- What is Lofi Zoo?
- A small, cozy zoo game that runs in your browser. You look after animals, welcome visitors and grow the zoo one habitat at a time, while lofi music by Purrple Cat plays at the bottom of the screen.
- Is it free? Do I need an account?
- It is free, with no sign-up and no ads. Your zoo is saved only in your own browser (localStorage), so it stays on this device.
- How do I earn coins?
- Every visitor pays for a ticket at the gate. Visitors also leave tips at enclosures where the animals are happy, so tap the coins that pop up. Fed, clean, petted animals in bigger enclosures are the happiest.
- What happens while I am away?
- Nothing. The zoo freezes when you close or hide the tab and picks up exactly where you left it, with no hungry animals or messes waiting. The music can keep playing in the background.
- Which music plays where?
- Bunny Meadow plays Bloom, Cat Garden plays Cat Nap, Fox Woods plays Tranquil Trails, Otter Pond plays Pelagic Journey and Oasis, Penguin Ice plays Ice Palace, Capybara Spring plays Happy Place, Owl Grove plays Endless Forest, the Red Panda Hideaway plays House in the Woods, Hedgehog Hollow plays Sleep Tight, Panda Valley plays Just Relax, Axolotl Lagoon plays Sea of Stars 2 and the Frog Lily Pond plays Signs of Life. The gate and plaza play Mellow Skies. Turn off Follow in the player to keep one playlist going.
- Can I use the music in my videos or streams?
- Yes. It is licensed CC BY 4.0, so you can use it on social media, in videos and on livestreams with credit to Purrple Cat. Please do not re-upload it to music streaming services, and no remixes, samples or covers there either.
